It’s a tough one, it’s a diverse state with lots on offer. In true American style everything really is bigger and better! We’ve narrowed down the list to what we think is the best about this Golden State!

BEVERLY HILLS

Prada, Gucci, Valentino, Armani, Dior and Cartier – just to name a few of the most luxurious brands frequented by the rich and famous who reside in zip code 90210. At LA’s most expensive real estate your chances of bumping into a celebrity here are pretty likely, even one of our own bumped into the likes of Jodi Foster – true story!

Be prepared to arrive with your plastic, this is your chance to overindulge, why not channel your inner Gigi and buy 7 outfits to the one event!

VENICE BEACH

People watching central – all you need is your sunglasses, a pitcher of margarita, and a seat. From weird and wonderful entertainers whether it’s a fortune teller, skateboarders to the muscle men literally doing chin ups on the beach, you never know what you’re going to get! You can really see why this is called the Golden State – sunshine, surf and tanned bodies…not that we’ve been perving!

CELEBRITY CENTRAL

What can we say, most of our favourite celebrities know this state very well! Especially Hollywood Boulevard. Our favourite shows are filmed there - We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve had a crush on Vince and we’ve wanted Ari to chill out… it’s the place to bring your entourage! You can see their footprints outside the TCL Chinese Theatre, or you can visit the Hollywood wax museum if the thought of facing your real life crush is too overwhelming!

POUR IT UP

New York has the Manhattan, Hawaii has the Blue Hawaii…. California has, well where do we start! In LA it’s always six o’clock somewhere. The ‘City of Angels’ is known to be home to many swanky cocktail bars with an impressive drinks list to match. From an Old Fashioned to a Moscow Mule there’s not much you won’t find available in Tinseltown. There’s even a cocktail called ‘Hotel California’. Think champagne and tequila #yum If you really want to take it to the next level, many LA nightclubs offer bottle service as part of their packages.

SUPERSIZE ME

You are never stuck for food options in Cali! The food offering is a mesh of its social hot spot and ethnic influences. Food trucks and mobile restaurants have also become the IN thing – you can find them parked in all sorts of places, normally with a long line of people waiting. From In-N-Out Burger, to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, to a garlic restaurant in San Fran (yes, garlic!) California in true American style is a foodie heaven. The most difficult part about ordering a meal for us Aussies is remembering to tip!
